books I’m going to read at the ranch…

Surprised by Hope – NT Wright

The Shack – Young

Trace – Patricia Cornwell

The Bear and the Dragon – Tom Clancy

L.L. Bean catalog – :)

The Tom Clancy book will take the longest. His plots and characters are so deep it’s impossible for me to finish one of his books in one day. I got hooked on Cornwell this past June. Unfortunately I started with one of her later works – now I’m playing catch up reading her older books involving Dr. Scarpetta. All the forensic pathology stuff really interests me.

The other two books spiritually interest me.

I told Kris I was going to find a tree far away from the house and just read. The kids will be building a fort with my dad and I’m expecting Paul to entertain the mom’s. Yes, mom’s. Paul’s parents and niece are joining us at the ranch and our trip to Mount Rushmore. I know the kids will have a grand time – the cousin’s all get along so well. Our families do quite well together actually. I’ll just be searching out the solitude so I can say I went on vacation. :)

I am SO jealous! I mean, I’m happy for you. :-) That you get all that time to read, that is. Drive safe and have fun! We’ll miss you!

Enjoy your private world of The Page. I’m hoping to get my hands on Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer soon. It’ll take me two days to read. Just like the others in her series.

I _loved_ both _Surprised by Hope_ and _The Shack_. They were life-changing books for me. I think you will find that they complement each other nicely, actually. Enjoy your reading time! It sounds positively blissful.

I finished Trace and am getting started on Surprised by Hope. I have to read inside thought because of the heat and the insects!
I think Kim from Kansas would love it out here with her camera. There are gold dragonflies by the hundreds. I’ll take pictures of bugs and bring the camera Saturday.

ahhh, now back to reading and sipping iced tea.
